Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 4, 2026
Akrivos (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates mobile applications and related services (the “Apps”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information when you use our Apps.
1. Information We Collect
a) Information You Provide
Account Information. Some Apps may offer optional account creation via Google Sign-In or Apple Sign-In. If you create an account, we receive your name and email address from the authentication provider. We store a unique user identifier and, if you choose, a display name. You are never required to create an account to use core App features.
User-Generated Content. If you submit bug reports, feedback, or contact us via email, we receive the information you include in that communication.
b) Information Collected Automatically
Local Data. App data — including your settings, progress, game saves, and preferences — is stored locally on your device. This data is not transmitted unless you opt into cloud sync (see Section 4).
Analytics Data. We may collect anonymous, aggregated usage data such as screen views, feature usage frequency, session length, and engagement metrics. This data does not identify you personally.
Crash & Diagnostic Data. We may collect crash reports and diagnostic logs to identify and fix bugs. These reports may include device type, operating system version, app version, and stack traces. They do not include personal content or user-generated data.
Device Identifiers. Analytics and crash reporting services may use anonymous device identifiers (e.g., Firebase Installation ID) to distinguish unique app installations. These identifiers are not linked to your personal identity.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve our Apps
- Fix bugs and improve stability (via crash reports)
- Understand how features are used to guide development priorities
- Sync your data across devices (if you opt into cloud sync)
- Display leaderboards and community features (if you opt in)
- Process in-app purchases (handled by Apple/Google — see Section 5)
- Respond to your support requests
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
3. Cloud Sync & Accounts
Some Apps may offer optional cloud sync via a user account. If you create an account and enable cloud sync:
- Your app settings, progress, game saves, and aggregate statistics may be stored on our servers (Google Cloud Firestore) to enable cross-device access.
- Detailed activity records (e.g., individual decision logs) remain local to your device and are not synced.
- You can disable cloud sync at any time in the App settings. Disabling sync does not delete data already stored in the cloud — use the data deletion options in Section 7 to remove it.
If you do not create an account, no data is stored on our servers.
4. Leaderboards & Public Features
Some Apps may offer optional leaderboards or community features. If you participate:
- Only your chosen display name and score/ranking data are visible to other users.
- Participation is opt-in. You can remove yourself from leaderboards at any time.
- We do not display your email, real name, or any personal information on leaderboards unless you explicitly choose to.
5. In-App Purchases
Our Apps may offer optional in-app purchases. All purchases are processed entirely by the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. We do not have access to your payment information, credit card details, or billing address. Purchase records and refund requests are managed by the respective platform.
6. Third-Party Services
Our Apps may use the following categories of third-party services:
- Analytics (e.g., Firebase Analytics) — Purpose: Usage metrics, feature adoption. Data shared: Anonymous events, device type, OS version.
- Crash Reporting (e.g., Firebase Crashlytics) — Purpose: Bug identification and fixes. Data shared: Crash logs, device info, app version.
- Authentication (e.g., Firebase Auth, Google/Apple Sign-In) — Purpose: Optional account creation. Data shared: Name, email (from auth provider).
- Cloud Storage (e.g., Google Cloud Firestore) — Purpose: Optional cross-device sync. Data shared: App settings, progress, aggregate stats.
- Payment Processing (Apple App Store, Google Play) — Purpose: In-app purchases. Data shared: Handled entirely by platform.
These services are governed by their own privacy policies:
- Google Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
- Apple Privacy Policy: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/
- Firebase Privacy: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
7. Data Retention & Deletion
Local Data: You can delete all locally stored data at any time by using in-app reset options or by uninstalling the App.
Cloud Data: If you have a synced account, you can delete your cloud data by:
- Using the “Delete Account” or “Delete Cloud Data” option in the App settings.
- Contacting us at cs@akrivos.org and requesting deletion.
We will process deletion requests within 30 days. Upon account deletion, all associated cloud data (settings, saves, statistics, leaderboard entries) is permanently removed.
Data Retention: We retain cloud data only as long as your account is active. Anonymous analytics data may be retained in aggregated form indefinitely as it cannot be linked to any individual.
8. Data Security
We implement reasonable security measures to protect your data:
- Cloud data is stored in Google Cloud Firestore with encryption at rest and in transit.
- Authentication is handled via industry-standard protocols (OAuth 2.0 via Google/Apple).
- We do not store passwords — authentication is delegated to Google or Apple.
- Local data security depends on your device’s security measures (device lock, encryption).
No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children’s Privacy
Our Apps are intended for users aged 18 and older unless otherwise stated. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction under COPPA, GDPR, or equivalent law). If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
10. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Deletion: Request deletion of your data (see Section 7).
- Portability: Request your data in a machine-readable format.
- Opt-Out: Opt out of analytics data collection through device settings or in-app preferences.
- Withdraw Consent: Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at cs@akrivos.org. We will respond within 30 days (or as required by applicable law).
California Residents (CCPA): We do not sell personal information. You have the right to know what data is collected and to request deletion.
EU/EEA Residents (GDPR): Our legal basis for processing is legitimate interest (analytics, crash reporting) and consent (account creation, cloud sync). You may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
11. International Data Transfers
If you use cloud sync, your data may be stored on servers located in the United States (Google Cloud). By using cloud features, you consent to the transfer of your data to the United States, where data protection laws may differ from your jurisdiction.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted at this URL (https://akrivos.org/privacy-policy) with an updated “Last updated” date. Material changes will be communicated through the App or via the app store update notes. Your continued use of our Apps after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
